It all started when…
I lost a game of racquetball. Ridiculous, but true story. A loss in a friendly game that carried a heavy bet sent me packing my bags from Bozeman, Montana to Portland, Oregon. I was getting my degree in Mechanical Engineering at Montana State University and the loss meant that I took an internship at a printing company outside of Portland. During that summer I took a tour of the Nike world headquarters campus and instantly fell in love. Sports had been a huge focus of my life growing up and through college, where I was a golfer for MSU. The idea of working for the largest company in the athletic footwear industry was too good to be true.
I finished the summer and spent my senior year focused on how I could get a job at Nike once I graduated. That dream became a reality when I was offered an internship the next summer as a Footwear Engineer at Nike. That internship turned into a full time job and I’ve spent the last 11 years working for the sports giant, both at the world headquarters and overseas at some of their factory partners. I’ve focused on both footwear engineering and footwear development of mostly performance sports product. I’ve lead global teams and been fortunate to learn from some of the best in the industry.
In the last decade, I’ve proven myself to be a strong product developer, competent and successful team leader and coach, and created a love for project management and process improvement. I have a strong affinity for beautiful, functional, and high quality products both in my personal and professional life.
I recently left Nike to pursue other opportunities and have ventured out on my own. I’m based in Portland, Oregon and in my free time you can find me outside. Skiing, trail running, mountain biking, pretending like I like to rock climb, and spending time with friends and family.
I’d love to hear from you. Drop me a line.
